New Sofa & Chair!

Anyone who follows this blog knows that a few months back my husband and I were looking for a new sofa and chair. Well after a 9 week wait our new Statum sofa and chair are finally here and they are fantastic. Now what to do with the rest of the room. I am thinking- refinish the coffee table to a colour closer to the floors, re-paint the end tables a darker colour and replace the slipper chairs (not shown).

Restore. Recycle. Repurpose.

In an attempt to try to reduce my carbon footprint, I am trying to come up with ways to make my home more green. Anyone who knows me knows that I love home decor, so I thought this was a realistic place to start. For anyone else thinking the same way that I am you should have a look at the Country Living book "Restore. Recycle. Repurpose. {Create a Beautiful Home}" by Randy Florke and Nancy Becker. The book is filled with unique ideas, projects, photos and inspiration for every room of the house. Well worth the $20.

Sarah Richardson Design- Update

For those of us who are not huge fans of Facebook, their is another way to follow Sarah on a regular basis. She has created a page on her website called Sarah's Diary. Basically she updates it daily (sometimes several times a day) with pictures (or links) of what she is up to. Since beginning this page on December 8th, 2010 she has shared photos of everything from her

morning coffee to pictures of the wallpaper used in one of the rooms from her upcoming season 4 of Sarah's House.

Why We Love Michael Penney

I have been a big fan of Michael Penney for quite some time and his affordable style column was basically the only reason I regularly visited the House and Home blog. Now he has launched his own blog where he is willing to answer our design questions! Love it! Thank-you to Aubrey and Lindsay for bringing this to my attention.
