Before- My favorite part of the before kitchen is the window that connects the kitchen to the laundry room. Having a window that connects 2 interior rooms just makes sense!! The walls are peach and the cabinetry is a fake pinkish maple laminate. I think they were trying to make the room feel bright but the combination did not work especially with those floors.
After- Basically we painted very surface (except the counters), removed one cabinet and replaced it with open shelving, added new wood floors, new appliances, pot lights, beadboard to the peninsula, cabinet hardware and removed the window. Ceiling fans are not my favorite but it is necessary since we don't have air conditioning and with a western exposure it can get pretty warm in the house in the summer. This fan was the nicest one we could find.
Our long term goal is to replace the laminate counters with wood counters and introduce a farm sink with apron (the smaller version of Jenn's). Very cottaegy...
